This is more than a list of surprising claims. The rounds move from classification and familiar mammals to less obvious invertebrates, ecological roles and conservation. Each question has four options, and selecting one reveals the correct response with enough context to explain why it is right. That makes a missed point useful rather than frustrating.
The animals come from land, freshwater and the ocean, with examples from every major region. Questions avoid treating “animal” as another word for “mammal”: insects, corals, spiders, octopuses and sea stars are animals too. The explanations also separate scientific ideas from common myths, such as camels storing water in their humps or chameleons changing color only for camouflage.
Round 1: Meet the animal kingdom
Questions 1–10Begin with the features biologists use to organize animal diversity. These questions move from the entire kingdom to familiar vertebrate classes and major invertebrate groups. Look for defining structures rather than relying on habitat: animals that live in water do not all belong to the same lineage.
