5. Read a Calendar

Concept: A calendar shows all the days in a month. We use it to find dates and plan events!

Sample Calendar - October 2025

Yellow cells = Weekend days (Saturday & Sunday)

How to Read a Calendar:

✓ Days run from left to right

✓ Weeks run from top to bottom

✓ Each row is one week

✓ Find day of week by looking at column

💡 Tip: Use calendars to remember important dates and events!

6. Relate Time Units

Concept: Time units connect to each other! We can convert between different time measurements.

Time Unit Relationships

1 minute = 60 seconds

1 hour = 60 minutes

1 day = 24 hours

1 week = 7 days

1 month = approx 4 weeks

1 year = 12 months

1 year = 365 days(366 in leap year)

Time Conversion Examples

How many hours in 2 days?

2 times 24 = 48 hours

How many days in 3 weeks?

3 times 7 = 21 days

How many minutes in 2 hours?

2 times 60 = 120 minutes

💡 Tip: Remember these relationships to convert time!

7. A.M. or P.M.

Concept: A.M. and P.M. help us know if it's morning or evening. A day is divided into two 12-hour periods!
